No buffet there, but great ribs, spirits, and service
Not only is the food amazing, but the staff is OUTSTANDING! If you sit at the bar, Sam and Lisa are friendly and welcoming.
The Cowboy bone in ribeye. One of the best steaks I have ever had. Awesome.
The food is dependable. You always know what you are getting. My issues are the menu never changes and it’s limited. They have the same food now they had 15+ years ago. If you are wanting a nice hearty salad this is not the place to go and it’s the only restaurant I’ve ever been in without Ranch dressing. It’s always crowded because there isn’t much to choose from as far as restaurants go in the area. Would I wait an hour to eat there...nope...but if you just want simple reliable food and get there when the door opens it is worth a visit.
Excellent local restaurant. Great setting.
Jammed but worth the wait, awesome food, great service also.
One of the best restaurants by the lake. The drinks are really good and the food is delicious. The real fun are the people who come to eat, its a lively older crowd but they come to party.
Food was excellent, but we had to stand before getting into the place and then some waiting for a table. Not fun.
This is good dependable food and service very popular can be crowded
The food was very good, the hour plus wait not as good. It was a Saturday night a little after six so a wait was expected but a little longer than we thought. In the end still worth the wait, we will go back. The staff was great even though it was so busy, we were well taken care of. Five star rating if less wait and better waiting conditions.
Was absolutely packed on a Wednesday evening. They had 4 dinner specials. We had the New York strip. It was good but way overpriced at $30/person. Plus they only had 4 beers on draft. Definitely a locals hang.
They charge the same price for virgin drinks as regular, so a virgin mojito, which is soda water with a little lime, mint, and sugar, was $8.50. They should at least warn you when you order one that it will be so expensive. Also, I asked for green beans cooked in olive oil, which they said they could do, but they boiled them instead. They were nearly flavorless. I was also disappointed with the fries. They are made from frozen fries, so no better than at a fast food place. They had a weird flavor.
Fast service, good food! But go early! The place is small and crowd it.
My 1st time was Valentine's Day, great oysters on da 1/2 shell but the Lobster stuffed trout was out of this world
It's super busy. No reservations. So the wait is long. Bar is also loud since so many people waiting. But the food is worth it. Best filet mignon and strip steak I've had in Greensboro.
The Chicken Parm is fabulous! My husband loves the Ribs.
I am going to be honest, everyone I talked to had amazing things to say about this place so I went in expecting to have my socks knocked off and they weren't. Now, our server was great and the food was good and I would probably go back, but I think I went in with expectations too high. I would recommend the mud pie for dessert, it was delicious!
Always good food and service
January 2020 update:Had another great meal. I had fish and chips and my wife had a bacon cheese burger. Both were great. Service was friendly and efficient. Live music was playing this night. Great a atmosphere with just the right amount of background noise to make the place feel alive. Two piece band playing a nice selection of music. Parking could be an issue during the 7-8pm peak time. A local, and my favorite spot to eat. Original 2018 review: I like this place for a casual meal. The building has open rafters and a very casual feel, and it’s great. Some of the best fried fish I’ve had....ever. Raw bar during the oyster season (months that end in “er”). Prices and service were great. Live music is offered on the night we visited. Has some weird hours, so check before you drive here. Ample parking, but there might be a wait if you come early. Prices and service were great. Live music is offered on the night we visited.
Fantastic food and service as always
If you are near Lake Oconee, you MUST stop in at the Silver Moon! The atmosphere is only outdone by their food. I had the cheeseburger and it was one of the best I've had yet!
This is a true treasure! I will call it the Hidden Jewel of the area. No road sign. We would have never found this place. Our Limo driver suggested it. Love how you just write your name on a chalk board and wait to be called. I kept my hat on low and no one bothered us. Our waitress Amanda did an awesome job serving us. She recommended several things and I choose the BBQ Shrimp. It was incredible! Also my company had a Lemon Drop Martini that they claimed was also wonderful.Thank you Silver Moon!
Excellent service. Excellent food. Tried the tuna poke bowl for the first time. Huge serving!!
Food was VERY good (minus the overgrown asparagus, which we were comped for). It was very loud in the small front dining room which was packed. We had a difficult time carrying on a conversation, and we were sitting side by side. We would never have been able to talk with anyone else at the table. Service was very friendly and efficient even though it was a very busy night! We will go back...the food is that good.
Great food and some nights live music!
Stopped for a drink and love the remodel. Look forward to going again
Awesome. What a great place. Delicious food and service was great. Will definitely go again.
We had a group of 8, and all ordered different entrees, and EVERY. SINGLE. ENTREE. was top-notch. The chicken tenders are moist, the steak was seasoned to perfection, the fish was fresh. If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would!
The best place to eat in Lake Oconee GA
Third time in a week . Great hamburger and house salad dressing yum....
Country atmosphere. Very good food. The ribs are outstanding but only offered on Thursday and Saturday. Open for a limited time 5-10 pm, but always busy on Fridays and Saturdays. Right now the best ribs in the area.
I had the grilled mountain trout, it was delicious
Always delicious, prime rib night on Mondays is great!
Great variety of food, affordable prices, generous portions, and equally kind and prompt staff. Decent but not great beer selection (though Tropicalia is on tap), and excellent desserts. Be sure to get here early to avoid the wait!
Hidden gem near Reynolds and lake Oconee. Come for a drink, stay for the food which is reasonably priced bistro-style meets seafood pub. The steak frites is a must if you're visiting for the first time. Also I love their house salad with the fried kale garnish.
Good food and atmosphere. Enjoyed our sweet server, Lucas. He was friendly, knowledgeable and so polite! Chatted with some other customers since they were locals and we are from out of town. I really enjoyed our dinner!
This place is 5 star all the way around,it was well worth the wait,we will return and this tym bring are friends.
Fun place to eat, food is ok but prices are kind of high
Every bit as good as I remembered it being from our last visit 13 years ago. A very relaxed atmosphere. Grilled salmon was a perfect medium. Parmesan grits are incredible. Wife and kids loved the butterscotch ice cream sandwich. Staff was friendly and attentive.
We sat at the bar because there's always a wait. Honestly the food is just ok. The ribs were tender and meaty, however the sauce was either ketchup or marinara sauce, bland and well, just not good. The oysters are flat out weird. Was told they are pasteurized. Nothing like an Apalachicola oyster and I will never get them again. The burger was better than the disaster at Filet but not worth getting again. The bartender/server was very friendly and attentive as needed.
Great food and atmosphere
Always packed but always good. Oysters on Friday and Saturday. We had fried jumbo shrimp and a steak. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Great place to go, worth the wait.
Great food and the service was excellent
Nice establishment. Great food!
Good food and GREAT service, even with a party of 10 that sat down right before closing time
When a restaurant does not have a sign to market itself and there is still an hour wait, you know something is good going on inside. the rib eye here is one of the best on the planet, if you are ever near sinclair or oconee, do yourself a favor an try this place, just get there early.
I used to eat at the Silver Moon after fishing all day. I live 75 miles south so I like to eat before I go home. The grouper sandwich or fish basket is what I normally order. The last couple of times there I thought the fish tasted different. The following week I ordered the “grouper” sandwich which was not grouper. I asked my waitress what the fish was. “Haddock, we don’t have grouper anymore. “ I have not been back since. I have tried other entrees and they were good but not great. I do miss the peanut/chocolate pie, chocolate bread pudding, and strawberry shortcake. Their desserts are wonderful.
The bartender was great! She made our drinks perfectly and was very friendly.
My husband and I were staying 2 nights at The Ritz Carlton and ate at Silver Moon both nights. We had the BEST pork chops and lamb chops. The chocolate bread pudding was to die for. Best martinis. We love, love, love this place!
Excellent food. Waitress missed a couple of requests but nothing detrimental.
